Starting with an initial consultation, your pain management choices could be a range of medication options, minimally invasive pain management procedures/injections, support from our psychology and physiotherapy or other colleagues. Often, a combination of two or more of these options will be encouraged as a holistic plan to support you.
After an initial consultation (20-30min) and assessment, appropriate recommendations will be made and as a default, a letter will be provided to you and to your GP regarding the plan and any follow up as needed.
Remote (telephone and Video) consultations are also available. Our Pain Specialists can assess and offer treatment options that can include a wide range of medication options - topical and oral as appropriate. Such medications can be delivered directly to your door via our online pharmacy partners. However, while referrals for Imaging and Pathology such as lab tests can be ordered they have to be done locally in Reading.
This appointment and the fee paid does not include any treatment and/or investigations. The fees charged by our physiotherapy, psychology or nutrition colleagues will also be extra and vary according to the insurer coverage and limits.
Our Consultants are available on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays for consultations. Once your appointment has been booked, a confirmation email will be sent and a link to New Patient Questionnaire for you to complete and bring prior to your appointment or to fill and send back.
Pre-completion of our questionnaire will enable your consultant to spend the maximum time with you during your assessment and focus on what matters to you.

We want our service to be accessible and we aim to keep our fees as affordable as possible. We aim for transparency regarding costs so please see the information below. Insured patients – please refer to your insurer
- Self pay - New patient consultations: £300
- Extended consultation 45min - £400 (which will also include a free copy of the Dr. Ravindran’s book – the Pain Free Mindset as well as a comprehensive list of resources and a treatment plan)
- Follow up - £175
Interventional Procedures:
- Insured patients: According to specific insurer payment schedules.
- Self-pay patients: procedures carry their own package tariff so it is best to take advice from the respective hospital finance division.
Please note: any outpatient consultation appointments cancelled with less than 24 hours’ notice will incur the full cost of the appointment.
